Mother of the Groom Consultation by Jan

A lady booked to come to see me one Thursday afternoon. Her son was getting married in Cyprus; the weather was going to be hot and sunny. After chatting with her about the venue we established that she didn’t want to wear a traditional Mother of the Groom outfit. We looked at the outfits and decided to look for a dress that was long and floaty, more like a holiday style maxi dress but in a fabric which was a little more luxurious. We headed upstairs to our Ballroom where our Bridesmaid dresses and evening dresses are on display. After looking at all the options we picked out about 8 dresses, 5 full length and 3 cocktail dresses, chose a pair of our sample shoes to help with the look and began to try on. The long dresses look good, the weight of the fabric is right but they are not quite what she is had in mind. Moving onto the shorter dresses we began to see that these were more like it. She felt happy and comfortable in the shorter length and we decided that a lovely sandal would look great. Dress number 6 is by a designer called Mon Cherie, soft colours of pink and silver grey panels with very delicate embroidered flowers, a small strap to cover the bra and a pretty wrap. It looks amazing. It’s the one! I find a small fascinator to complete the look and some delicate jewellery. Our in house seamstress Jenny pops upstairs and puts a few pins in to make the dress fit perfectly for a lovely sunny Cyprus wedding.
