Several year's later, whilst accompanying my three daughters in their search for the wedding dress of their dreams, I discovered that the whole bridal experience could be very expensive and extremely stressful. Gowns costing half a year's salary, bridesmaids outfits needing 12 weeks pre-ordering time ( try telling a 4 year old not to grow!) and mother of the bride outfits very few and far between. After all that stress, not withstanding a wonderful wedding day, where are the beautiful gowns now? Collecting dust on top of the wardrobe!
The next special occasion to come along took me completely by surprise: the school prom. A great event for the hardworking students to say goodbye to their school years and wear a fabulous gown to boot. The only problem being that a small lottery win is required to afford the fairytale dress and of course all the accessories to match.
